When asked why Sony bolted to the forefront of developing content for virtual reality, Senior VP of Virtual Reality Jake Zim explained, “very talented creative people are knocking on the door and are saying ‘hey, I want to find a way to tell a story on this platform.” One of the studio’s most recent endeavors involves a partnership with Madison Wells Media’s Reality One, which Zim refers to as “a natural strategy,” to enhance storytelling through virtual reality interactivity. However, Zim foresees a greater, more enriching use of for virtual reality in the area of real-time social interaction. This, according to Zim, will be a “game-changer.”
