Thriving VR Market in China

In 2014, Facebook bought Oculus with the cost of 2 billion dollars to pioneer a new era of VR/AR in the worlds. Since then, the VR industry has got the high concern of capital industry. The domestic enterprises like Baidu, Tencent, Letv, Xiaomi and other leading enterprises are ready to enter into the VR/AR market.

Since from 2014, the number of VR/AR on investment and financing, as well as on the total amount, media reports is in ongoing increase. As per the financing, media report and financing times, projects, we can analyze the status of VR/AR in capital market from the following perspectives.

 
The statistics show that the amount of financing quantity and times is rising uninterruptedly in the field of VR/AR since from 2014. And in a short span of two years, the investment amount has almost recorded to 3 billion yuan due to the capital enterprises ‘ enhanced attention and higher participation to VR/AR market.

While Tencent has planned to develop the VR products from the perspectives of content, platform and application.
 
According to a survey on the Chinese VR customers, there are more than 28.6 billion potential VR customers in China as well over 0.96 million customers who have bought all kinds of VR devices. The statistics show that the domestic customers are addicted into the VR products because the VR technology has been a consumer product, being more and more popular in the customer market.
 
Moreover, the ii Media Research introduced that the market of Chinese VR industry in 2016 will reach 5.66 billion yuan while the market in 2026 will jump to 55.63 billion yuan. From the analysis, it is obvious that Chinese VR market is quite potential.
